1. HTP-1 Black Hawk
    50mm Special Edition

For those who have not heard about the Human Time Project, they are like TOMS Shoes but for watches. For every watch that is sold, they will send one to a health care worker who needs one in places like Central, South America, African Congo region and Asia. The watches start at $95 which is a great deal for a watch of this quality.

I received my new watch in the mail last week just in time for Christmas and to my surprise I received one of their Black Hawk limited editions. The normal edition is a 46mm case with opposite colour hands (white on black instead of black on white). The watch has a nice weight to it. It’s quite heavy and does not feel like a cheap watch. You could probably even take it off and use it as a melee weapon. I ordered mine with the green strap and they were kind enough to send an extra black strap. The straps do a great job of keeping this beast of a watch in place on the wrist. The face is very clear and although the black hands are a little more difficult to read than the white, it is still possible to tell the time without too much work. The black ionic plating on the case seems to be very resistant to scratches so far (I bumped this watch on a few hard surfaces already and no scratches or nicks yet). It’s a quartz movement so it will give pretty reliable time without the need for winding. It’s 50m water resistant so it will handle the daily tasks without worry but I would not suggest swimming with it. The screw on crown protection will make sure you don’t accidentally change the time and helps keep any dirt or mud from clogging up the crown. So far I’m very happy with my purchase.

Unfortunately this Black Hawk edition is sold out but they have a 46mm version with opposite colour hands available. I highly recommend picking one up for yourself as the regular collection starts at $95 which is an amazing deal for a watch like this. You’ll also be supporting a very good cause.
